No iPhone 3G but upgraded 1st gen
Friday, July 11, 2008 at 9:14AM Well after going to the AT&T Store at 7:30 am this morning to discover a line wrapped around the building I realized I was not going to be able to get an iPhone 3G today. I fumed at work for about 4 hours and left after lunch to work from home for the afternoon.
Since I was sitting at home I decided to upgrade my first generation phone to the 2.0 software. 2 1/2 hours later, I had an upgraded phone with 10 new applications. It was extremely frustrating dealing with the slammed iTunes servers for reactivation but all is forgotten now as I love the 2.0 software.
The App Store is fabulous and my favorite application is the Twitterific native application. I will actually be able to turn off all SMS notfications with this application. Also, really loving Truphone, WeatherBug, Remote and Whrrl. I plan to check out more applications tomorrow but right now I'm debating whether or not I even need to upgrade my phone.
